Candidates & zoning take stage Sunday
The public will get a chance to hear from candidates on the General Election ballot and listen to some of the debate over zoning at a “Meet The Candidates” event on Sunday afternoon, October 24.
The candidate forum is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alderton-Dawson Post 60 American Legion in Berkeley Springs.
Among those who have confirmed they will attend are candidates for Morgan County Commission, Circuit Clerk and House of Delegates, as well as some of the candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and State Supreme Court.
Candidates will give brief speeches and then answer questions from moderator John Douglas, editor of The Morgan Messenger.
The last part of the program will be given over to a discussion of the proposed county zoning ordinance, which is also on the November 2 ballot.
The pro-zoning PROTECT group and the anti-zoning PROMOTE group will each provide a spokesperson.
Written questions for the candidates or about zoning will be accepted from the public that day or may be submitted to Douglas at The Morgan Messenger beforehand.
