What’s the hurry?

Dear Editor:

Why rush your vote on zoning? With construction at an all-time low, and no foreseeable improvement in the state of the economy, we have time to examine the zoning ordinance before rushing to vote.

Maybe our commissioners are afraid of being one-timers so they want to be able to say they left their mark on our county during their term. Is this really the mark we want left on our county?

We should all take time to fully analyze zoning. I encourage all of the citizens of Morgan County to read the proposed ordinance before you vote.
The zoning ordinance up for vote will not stop building but it will raise taxes. As far as our “sportsmen concerns,” we should have tried to save our wildlife 20 years ago.
