The healthier choice?
Dear Editor:
I found great humor when reading Tommy Swaim and Stacy Dugan’s opinion about serving Morgan County taxpayers pulled pork barbeque sandwiches, instead of hot dogs.
It is their belief that it is a “better choice,” because they are “concerned about our health.” Really? Since when is a “food service professional” an expert on health? McDonald’s hires teenagers as “food service professionals.”
I finally realized how appropriate it is to serve pulled pork. It’s called “Pork Belly Spending!” It’s running rampant in the government everywhere, even in the hills of Morgan County. The Taj Mahaj Courthouse is a perfect example of “Pork Belly Spending.” Under-insured and unprotected.
So, folks, let’s celebrate the grand opening of such a monstrosity of a courthouse that we are overpaying for, load up on pig and maybe if you’re lucky, you may be served lunch by Stacy Dugan while visiting your loved ones in the hospital, after stuffing their faces with pork, the other “white meat.”
Pulled pork and potato chips, a healthier choice? No wonder obesity is an epidemic in America. Ladies and gentlemen, start your defibrillators!
