The right thing to do
We’re glad the Morgan County Commissioners agreed to give $3,000 to keep alive the program to recycle plastic here. Their money will match a $2,000 grant from the Morgan County Forum for Arts, Science & Technology. Better known as FAST, the local group has contributed to a lot of worthy endeavors in recent years.
All you have to do is look at the impressive recycling totals for the Morgan County Solid Waste Authority’s voluntary program to know that many local residents are recyclers.
Since plastic doesn’t biodegrade, it’s really necessary to recycle it to cut down on the trash going into landfills. And, of course, many folks are saving on their own garbage disposal bills by recycling glass, cans and paper in addition to plastic.
Recycling is a winner from every angle.
