Golf team improves to 16-3
Dylan Beddow shot a career best, 74, at Cacapon State Park on Tuesday, August 17, leading the Berkeley Springs High School golf team to victory in a Triangular meet against Washington and Petersburg High Schools.
Beddow had plenty of help as Zach Appel and Josh Bragg shot their best scores of the year, 82 and 91, respectively, while Matt Walters chipped in with a 92, giving the Indians a 339 total which was 24 shots better than Washington (363). Petersburg came in third with 413.
"Dylan had a terrific day," said Berkeley Springs Coach Dale McCumbee. “He shot 37 on each side and just played good golf. Zach had the second lowest score of the day (82), while both Josh and Matt did a respectable job. If we can get Dylan and Zach to continue playing well and get a couple of more scores in the 80s, I think we will be in pretty good shape when we host the regional tournament in September."
The Indians had a match this past Monday and will compete in a triangular meet at Locust Hill on August 31 and then return to Locust Hill on September 2 for the Musselman Invitational.
