Roadsides of recyclables
August 12, 2010
Dear Editor:
Last week my husband and I walked both sides of less than a quarter mile of Highland Ridge Road with 30-gallon trash bags. We collected a full bag of recyclables beside the road — beer and pop cans, and glass and plastic bottles — and a full bag of paper and plastic trash, all in less than an hour.
West Virginia is such a beautiful state, people. But it takes all of us to keep it that way.
Maybe the “tossers” don’t read this newspaper. For those who do, though, please help by recycling your cans and bottles at the very nice recycling center on U.S. 522 South. It’s open Monday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Please, take your other trash on home with you.
