Constitutional refresher

Dear Editor:

In reference to “Opposes mosque” in the letters in the August 4 issue:
Ignorance: The condition of being uninformed or uneducated. Lacking knowledge or information.

Does the author truly believe that every Muslim is an anti-American terrorist? Does he also believe that the mosque in question is really a “sanctuary of Death to America?”

Does the author need a refresher course on the United States Constitution? The First Amendment prohibits the federal government from making a law “respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

9/11 was an attack against America by terrorists, who happen to have a warped understanding of what their religion is.

Clearly, the United States would not allow the building of a terrorist training center anywhere, much less near Ground Zero. We are, after all, still at war in Afghanistan.

Stereotyping all Muslims as anti-American terrorists is wrong. Hitler referred to Christianity “as the foundation of our national morality.” Does the author consider himself a Nazi?
