Gospel Quartet at Adventist Church

Returning to Berkeley Springs for their 12th annual concert, the Johnson-Greene Family Quartet of Woodbine and Keymar, Md., will present the worship service in music at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 14, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3606 Valley Road (Highway 522 South).

Community visitors are welcome, and there is no admission charge.

Since 1998 the quartet has performed each year at the local Adventist church. Quartet members include Del Johnson, administrator of the retirement plan for the North American Division of the Adventist Church in Silver Spring, Md.; his wife, Andee, a nurse educator; Harold Greene, director of information technology at the denomination’s Columbia Union Conference regional office in Columbia, Md.; and his wife Christine, certification registrar in the Education Department of her husband’s employing organization.

The Johnson-Greene Family Quartet first joined their musical talents together in 1997 at their home Seventh-day Adventist church in Westminster, Md., singing in a “sunshine band” at a nearby nursing home. Their musical repertoire now includes old-time gospel songs, children’s songs, spirituals, and contemporary and classical harmony.
