John W. Young
John Wesley Young, 67, of Hancock, Md., died Friday, August 6, 2010 at NMS Healthcare in Hagerstown, Md.
Born May 11, 1943 in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Frank Luther Young and the late Virginia Fink Young Dailey.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.
He attended Berkeley Springs High School and had worked as a machinist with Mack Truck in Hagerstown.
He served with the United States Marine Corps during the early 1960s. He collected guns and liked working on cars.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Kay Bean, Hedgesville, W.Va. and Penny Sue Clark, Warfordsburg, Pa.; one sister, Carol Ann Downs, Falling Waters, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Renee Young, Jonathan Tyler Clark, Morgan Collins Clark and Megan Brooke Clark, all of Warfordsburg and Tara Beth Young and Douglas James Bean, both of Hedgesville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Darlene Collins Young; one son, John Leon Young and one brother, Franklin Roger Young.
Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday, August 10 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs, with Fr. Leonard A. Smith as celebrant. Interment with graveside military honors were provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard in Greenway Cemetery.
The Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, handled the arrangements.
