Mary P. Vest

Mary Patricia Vest, 69, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born February 21, 1941 in Renvyle, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Sarah Watters Conneely.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.

She was educated in both Ireland and the United States.

She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Circle Manor Nursing Home in Kensington, Md. She had been a homemaker in recent years and liked gardening and shopping.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kay Lynn Vest, at home; three daughters, Monica Lynn Vest, Wheaton, Md., Janice Lee Doherty, Berkeley Springs and Natalie Jean Gonda, Johnstown, Pa.; one son, Wayne Rickard Vest, Wheaton; five grandchildren, Alexander J. Middleton, Ashley Patricia Gonda and Alyssa Rae Gonda, all of Johnstown, Meagan Emily Doherty and Kelly Shannon Doherty, both of Berkeley Springs; five sisters; three brothers and many nieces and nephews.

The rosary was recited Friday, July 30 at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.

Mass of Christian burial was offered Saturday, July 31, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs, with the Fr. Leonard A. Smith as celebrant. Interment private.
