The Italian Job II Pizza opens

The new Italian Job II Pizza opened in Berkeley Springs on Monday, July 5. The restaurant is located at 87 North Washington Street in the former Appalachian Restaurant building location.

Featured foods are pasta, pizza, chicken, veal and seafood dishes, Greek sandwiches that include gyros, cold and hot subs, calzones, stromboli and lasagna. The restaurant also offers salads, appetizers, pizza rolls, buffalo wings and desserts.

Owner Carlos Ayala also owns and operates the Italian Job Pizza in New Market, Virginia, which opened two years ago. It offers the same cuisine as his Berkeley Springs restaurant.

Ayala said he was watching “The Italian Job” movie and thought it would be a fun name for his restaurant.

Ayala said he had spent some time here for business and visiting and liked the area. He had seen the restaurant site was for sale and decided to open a second Italian Job restaurant.

Daily specials, take-out
They have daily luncheon specials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at special prices, Ayala said. Specials include dishes such as eggplant parmesan, chicken parmesan, spaghetti with meat sauce and fettuccini Alfredo. The restaurant also offers a children’s menu.

Customers can dine at the restaurant or order any food for take-out, he said. Free delivery is available within a 10-mile radius.

Ayala said he likes everything that is on the menu. He also is one of the cooks. People have been finding their newly opened restaurant and the number of patrons is growing, he said.

Future plans are to improve the restaurant and possibly add a television so customers can watch sports, Ayala said.

Hours
The Italian Job II Pizza is open Monday through Thursday and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and also on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
