Shame on commissioners
July 15, 2010
Dear Editor:
I would like to commend Commissioner Brenda Hutchinson who voted to close county offices out of respect for the passing of Senator Byrd. Although this commissioner is not a native of West Virginia, she chose to honor the memory of our great senator.
I would also like to say shame on you to the other two commissioners, who are native-born West Virginians, for voting to keep county offices open. Their decision showed a lack of respect for all of Senator Byrd’s contributions to the State of West Virginia and for his length of service to our state. The governor should reprimand both of you.
Louise Spring
Great Cacapon
