Thurman R. Poffinberger
1923-2010
Thurman Ray Poffinberger, 86, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at his residence.
Born December 28, 1923 in Morgan County, he is the son of the late Thurman Lee and Mamie Pauline Henry Poffinberger.
He was a member of the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ.
He was a 1943 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
In his earlier years he worked at the A.C. Unger Tomato Factory. He later worked as a clerk at the Cacapon State Park and then worked as a car salesmen at M&S Motors in Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda E. Dill, Berkeley Springs; two sons, Randy Ray Poffinberger, Winchester, Va. and Thurman Lee Poffinberger II, Berkeley Springs; one sister, Bieva E. Poffinberger, Berkeley Springs; six grandchildren, Shannon Ray Thompson, Randy Ray “PJ” Poffinberger II, Angela McCumbee, Trena Fraley, Darren Stotler, Darryl Dill and four great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday, July 3 at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., Berkeley Springs with the Evangelist Douglas Petty officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
