Eva E. Sexton
1935-2010
Eva Elizabeth (Betty) Mullis Harris Sexton, of Great Cacapon, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 after a long battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas I. Sexton; three sons, Thomas E. Sexton, Jonesborough, Tenn., Edward Harris, Sparrows Point, Md. and Jerry Sexton, Hedgesville; two daughters, Mary Ann Harris Smith, Broadway, Va. and Christie Sexton, Pasadena, Md.; seven grandchildren, Elliott Harris, Lorie Cox Cave, Lindsey Cox Mawyer, Christine Smith, April Zion Brockmeyer Rosa, Ryan Sexton and Kim Sexton Steuber; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall H. Mullis and Mary Douglas Drew Mullis and three brothers, Marshall Spencer Mullis, Raymond D. Mullis and Forrest H. Mullis.
She was a member of the Church of God in Great Cacapon, and spent many active years in the Hanover Assembly of God Church in Hanover, Md.
She and her husband spent time at the Log Cabin Camp Ground, Cross Junction, Va.
She was born in Charlotte, N.C. on May 13, 1935 and lived for many years in Maryland, before moving to Great Cacapon.
She graduated from Howard High School (Md.) in 1953 and worked for many years at Westinghouse in Savage, Md.
Services were held Thursday, July 1 at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., Laurel, Md. Interment at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
