Morgan County Schools retirees

Morgan County Schools had 11 professional and service personnel retire during the 2009-2010 school year. Some retired after 30 years to 35 years of service to the school system.

Horace Blankenship retired as Warm Springs Middle School physical education/health teacher. He began teaching history at Berkeley Springs High School in 1979.

Blankenship was a former high school Dean of Students and a wrestling coach and track coach. He has also served as energy education/manager for Morgan County Schools since 2000.

Barbara Lintz retired as fourth grade teacher for Warm Springs Intermediate School. She has taught in Morgan County Schools since August, 1975.

Diana Pryor retired as first grade Widmyer Elementary teacher. Pryor has taught in the school system since August, 1978.

Kathy Householder retired as speech pathologist for Widmyer Elementary. Her starting date with Morgan County Schools was November, 1978.

Janet Hrobak retired as English teacher for Berkeley Springs High School. She came on board at the high school as an English teacher in August, 2001.

Central office
Linda Ward retired this year as Special Education Director. Ward began working for Morgan County Schools in August, 2001. She left the school system for a few years, but returned in August, 2005 as Director of Special Education and Title 1.

Maintenance
Sterling Ambrose retired as sanitation plant operator, plumber and maintenance worker. Ambrose started working for the school system in August, 1982.

Service personnel
Sythia Gloyd retired as Warm Springs Middle School secretary. She began working for Morgan County Schools in August 1990 as a secretary for Great Cacapon Elementary.

Kathleen Ambrose retired as kindergarten aide for Widmyer Elementary. She started working for the school system in August, 1974.

Nancy Hendershot and Mary Etta Youngblood retired as school bus drivers. Both Hendershot and Youngblood began working for Morgan County Schools in August, 1980.
