Bernice I. White

1925-2010

Bernice Irene White, 85, of Enterprise, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at the United Hospital Center.

She was born on January 11, 1925 in Tyler County, a daughter of the late Jasper Newton and Nora Alice Minor Haught.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett R. White, whom she married on March 19, 1949 and who died on May 25, 1994.

She is survived by five daughters, Patricia Glaspell, Seaford, Va., Karen Shivetts, Greensburg, Pa., Rose Lester, Fairmont, Betty Mcle, Morgantown and Mary Merroto, Bridgeport; three sons, Gary White, Lincoln, Neb., Paul White, Berkeley Springs and David White, Enterprise; 14 grandchildren, Thomas Glaspell, Henry Glaspell, Andrew Glaspell, Matthew and Kevin Shivetts, Brandon Lester, Amanda Vance, Brittany and Anthony Mcle, Zachary, Chelsea and Hallie White, Caleb and Allison Merroto; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Rowand, Fairmont, Gladys Sagner of Pennsylvania and one brother, Newton Haught of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Delsie Howard, Amy Swiger and Mamie Nolan and three brothers, Delbert Haught, Fountain Mino and Andrew Haught.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Whitehall Church of Christ.

A funeral service was held at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, on Thursday, June 24 with Evangelist Kevin Lough officiating. Interment was at the Enterprise O.O.F. Cemetery.
