Expanded recycling programs
Morgan County Solid Waste Authority announces two programs that have been instituted in response to public requests.
The newest program will provide a paper shredding service for residents and businesses located in Morgan County.
On Friday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Charles R. Biggs Recycling Center on 522 will have a commercial grade shredding service on site to shred personal and sensitive business documents. (Stapled documents are okay). There is no charge for this service.
Solid Waste Authority will hold its third E-CYCLING Event on Saturday, September 18. The two previous events were very successful, and people visiting the recycling center have requested another opportunity to dispose of electronic items in a responsible way.
E-CYCLING events are made possible through a grant from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.
In addition, MCSWA has just published a new brochure describing its recycling program. The brochure, available at the recycling center and at business locations throughout the county, contains detailed information on how to prepare materials and items for recycling.
“It is our hope that this new publication will help the public to better understand what materials we accept, including all sorts of plastics. Also, the brochure explains what materials need to be rinsed before bringing them to the center,” said Bennett Lentczner, MCSWA chair.
