CEOS host international student
Morgan County had the opportunity of meeting an International Student from China.
The Community Educa-tional Outreach Service, better known as CEOS, gives a two year scholarship to a student from another country every other year. This year the local CEOS met “Olivia” Tao which is the American name she chose to use while in the United States.
She is studying Civil Engineering at West Virginia University in Morgantown. When she finishes her studies, she will return to China and use her degrees to help China with the structure of their roads, rails and buildings.
Although she has one more year of study through the CEOS, she will continue her education for another two years to complete her Masters in the U.S.
Although she has only been in the country for 18 months, she is fluent in the English language, and has learned many of our ways. She lives in China with her parents and younger brother, but is beginning to like the country life of West Virginia. Her city is between Beijing and Shanghai, with a mere one million people.
