Evelyn L. Payne

Evelyn Lohr Payne, 100, of Berkeley Springs, died Wed-nesday, June 9, 2010 at Berkeley Springs Rehabilita-tion & Nursing.

Born October 10, 1909 in Madison County, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Evelyn Jacobs Lohr.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She attended public schools in Virginia.

She was a retired school teacher and had been a homemaker in recent years.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Adam Miles, Plano, Texas and Amy Miles, Arlington, Va. and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Oliver Payne and her daughter, Mary Patricia Morehouse.

Private services and interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, Md.

Arrangements are being handled by the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.
