School personnel changes
The Morgan County School Board approved various personnel actions at recent meetings.
A fulltime kindergarten teaching position and a full-time kindergarten aide position were both reinstated at Widmyer Elementary. The positions were due to be abolished at the end of the 2009-2010 school year.
Laura Hovermale and Kristie Randall were removed from transfer and reassigned as county directors for the 2010-2011 school year.
Teachers
Warm Springs Middle School health teacher Brian Maslowski transferred to being a health/physical education teacher.
Amber Stotler was assigned as fifth grade teacher for Warm Springs Intermediate School.
Transfers for Widmyer Elementary kindergarten teacher Trista Crawford and kindergarten aide Linda Hovermale were rescinded.
Jamie Stuckey’s transfer to a position as third grade teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate School was rescinded. She was reassigned as a first grade teacher for Widmyer Elementary.
Paw Paw Elementary first grade teacher Staci Hutchinson took an unpaid leave of absence for several months that ended on June 9. Clinton Cockrum was the long-term substitute teacher for her class during her absence.
Paw Paw Schools teacher Chris Poniris took a two-week leave of absence that ended on June 7.
Warm Springs Middle School sixth grade teacher Tammy Baker resigned.
Shannon Brown, Kandy Kulus and Susan McBee were hired as homebound instructors, as needed.
Tammy Baker and Charles Walker were employed as substitute teachers.
Supplemental positions
Lisa Osborn was hired as an after-school tutor for Pleasant View Elementary School, as needed.
Mike Marsh and Mike Wilder were employed as teachers for the Berkeley Springs High School summer school program, as needed.
Hired as eighth grade summer enrichment teachers were Rachel Brown and Raegan Murphy for math, Tamara Bittorf for reading and Amy Taylor for writing, as needed.
Employed as third grade summer enrichment teachers were Gena Giumarro, Pam Gloyd, Janice Golden and Pam Ryan, as needed.
Approved as substitute third grade summer enrichment teachers were Dawn Harrold Lesan Lucas and Sabra Maguire, as needed.
Rachel Fisher was assigned as an English Second Language summer tutor, as needed.
Kate Stotler resigned as student council advisor for Berkeley Springs High School.
Service personnel
Carl Blevins resigned as bus driver.
Roger Steiner and Donna Jean Swaim were hired as bus drivers for the summer Energy Express program.
Coaches
Dusty McClintock resigned as head cheerleading coach for Berkeley Springs High School.
Toni Leslie was approved as an unpaid citizen cheerleading coach for Berkeley Springs High School.
Retirement
Bus driver Nancy Hendershot retired, effective June 30. Hendershot was rehired as a substitute bus driver for Energy Express, as needed.
Widmyer Elementary second grade teacher Janice Golden’s retirement was rescinded.
Temporary part-time
Edward Chaffee and Richard Romano resigned as adult basic education instructors.
Summer programs
Ridge Gordon was hired as a technology student intern for the summer on an as/if needed basis.
