Summer Reading sign-up begins at the library
Summer Reading sign-up begins next Monday, June 14. The library will have programs for all ages through adult.
Youth theme is “Make a Splash at Your Library!” and will be focusing on water conservation and “making a splash” by caring for the community and environment.
Some of the events will include a return of magician Wendel Wandell, who’s program, “Make a Splash In the Past” will entertain people of all ages; a program by local conservationist Sara Wuertenberg, who will read “The Lorax,” and have a program on watersheds, utilizing the Enviroscape, a visit from Michael P. White, the illustrator of the book, “The Library Dragon,” a day at Cacapon State Park for games and lots of water activities, a day of recycled craft making, a Recycled Art contest and other activities.

The library will also introduce a Bedtime Stories program, which will happen the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. The first program will be this Tuesday. Children are encouraged to attend in their pajamas for stories and a healthy bedtime snack. If a child has any special dietary restrictions, contact the library in advance.
