Hey, Girlfriend weekend in Berkeley Springs

Art sales on the street, wine tastings, a quilt show and concert are a few of the weekend events on June 4, 5 and 6, the ninth annual Hey, Girlfriend weekend in Berkeley Springs.

With spas and unusual shops, Berkeley Springs is always attractive. “Gangs of women roaming the streets downtown is an almost every weekend sight in town,” said Jeanne Mozier, vice president of Travel Berkeley Springs. “The hot trend of women traveling together is old news here. That’s why this year marks the ninth time we’ve gone all out to celebrate the sisters, cousins, college roommates and carpooling moms who need time away with just the girls.”

Mozier cited free reflexology sessions at Awakenings Health as one weekend event. “Nothing trumps free,” she said. Other spa specials are available at the Bath House Day Spa and Atasia.

Art lovers will find quilts on display at the Ice House Gallery and outdoor art sales.

Troubadour Park opens their new Friday night concert series with heart-throb rockers, the Weber Brothers. The Star Theatre has a “chick-flick” film, Letters From Juilet, as well as fortune telling sessions on Saturday afternoon.

Tari’s Cafe invites girls to don their tiaras, wrap their boas and settle in with girly pink cocktails on Sunday afternoon.

There are Ladies Night specials at the Country Inn’s tavern, fixed price dinner specials at Panorama at the Peak and an Italian cooking class and feast at Villa Firenze.

Jules hosts a wine and treat party for everyone on Saturday evening. Wilkes Street Wine Shop has free tasting on Saturday afternoon. Shopping specials can be found at other downtown shops.
