Senior Recital at Presbyterian Church

Chenaya Melbourne, Dia Griffiths and Trenten Derryberry will present their senior recital on May 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Berkeley Springs. Patricia Springer will be the piano accompanist for both Melbourne and Derryberry.

Melbourne, a vocal student, will perform pieces of classical music as well as musical theater such as “Art is calling for me.” She has competed at The National Association of Teachers of Singing four three years and has won her category for musical theater and second place in classical. She is planning on attending Ithaca College to major in Communications. She has been a student of Patricia Springer for six years.

Griffiths, a piano student, will perform pieces for the piano such as “La fille aux cheveux de lin (The Girl with the flaxen hair)” She is going to Baldwin-Wallace College, to major in History and or Film. She has been a student of Patricia Springer for the past 12 years.

Derryberry, a vocal student, will perform pieces of classical music such as “Pieta Signore” as well as musical theater songs. He competed at the National Association of Teachers of Singing this year and placed at Regional status. He is going to be attending Point Park University to major in Art and Entertainment Management with a minor in theater. He has been a student of Patricia Springer for the past four years.

All three students have participated in various recitals held by Patricia Springer as well as performed in multiple theater productions at the Icehouse and the Berkeley Springs High School. The recital is free and open to the public.
