Fund aids ailing worker
Dear Editor:
J. R. Timmons, the manager of Morgan County Solid Waste Authority’s recycling center, suffered a heart attack while at home on April 7.
Timmons is employed by Solid Waste Authority on a parttime basis and this is just one of many jobs he does to make a living. In addition, his wife Brenda also works.
None of their employment provides them with medical insurance that would have covered or at least assisted with the hospital, doctor and prescription drug costs associated with this medical crisis. Private insurance, even for these two hardworking people, has not been possible because of the excessive costs.
To assist the Timmons Family with what will now be ongoing medical costs, the Solid Waste Authority Board has established the J. R. Timmons Medical Fund.
With more than 1,200 vehicles visiting the recycling center each month, it is our hope that the recycling community of Morgan County will join in helping with Timmons’ new medical expenses.
Details about how to participate in this project are in an advertisement elsewhere in this edition of The Morgan Messenger.
The Solid Waste Authority board appreciates the generosity of the citizens of Morgan County. All funds collected will be deposited in a special CNB account.
