Cash register stolen from restaurant

The Berkeley Springs Police Department is investigating a break-in and robbery at Maria’s Garden.

Police Chief Craig Pearrell said thieves made off with the restaurant’s cash register and a money bag on Tuesday night, March 2, between 9 p.m. and midnight.

The theft was discovered by the owners when they opened the restaurant at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Pearrell said he has video surveillance tapes from both inside and outside the restaurant.

“There were four suspects involved, two male and two female,” Pearrell said after reviewing the tapes.
