Beatrice L. Hill
1918-2007
Beatrice L. Hill, age 89, of Hilldale Drive, Needmore, Pa., died Thursday, Decem-ber 6, 2007 at the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Facility in McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born February 10, 1918 in Tyrone, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maude Patterson Stoner and the widow of Marshall E. Hill who died June 29, 1978.
She graduated from War-fordsburg High School in 1937 as valedictorian of her class.
She and her husband started Hill Construction Com-pany in 1966.
After retiring as owner in 1978, she continued working as secretary until her retirement in 2002.
She was an active member of Hancock United Methodist Church, where she served as church treasurer and treasurer of the United Methodist Women.
She served as Republican Township Committee woman for many years.
She enjoyed quilting for over 20 years making over 70 quilts for her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Eleanor L. Fink of Hancock, Md., Dorothy J. Hixon of Needmore, Pa. and Mildred A. Hood of Stevens City, Va.; four sons, James E. Hill of Temple Hills, Md., Robert C. Hill of Fort Washington, Md., T. Gary Hill of Needmore, Pa. and Randy A. Hill of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; three sisters, Belva McCormick and Dorothy Johnson, both of McConnellsburg, Pa. and Joyce Clem of Rockville, Md.; 20 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 11 step-great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, three step great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Kennedy, Alberta Johnson and Grace Ruggiero.
A service was held Monday, December 10, at the Hancock United Methodist Church, 168 West Main Street, Rev. Duane Jensen officiated. Burial was in
the Rehobeth United Methodist Cemetery, Mercersburg, Pa.
