Daniel W. Straub
1925-2007
Daniel Watkins Straub, 82, of Hagerstown, Md., died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at his home.
Born May 1, 1925, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late George William and Erma Viola Fox Straub.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Guessford Straub, in 1998.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
He worked for 39 years and retired in 1985 from North American Cement Corp., presently St. Lawrence Cement Corp.
He attended Little Falls Chapel in Falling Waters.
He was active with American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and National Sad Sacks 101.
He is survived by three daughters, Pastor Linda Reese, Martinsburg, Joyce Rhodes, Berkeley Springs and Judy McFarland, Landisville, Pa.; one son, Denny Straub, Hagerstown; one sister, Helen Spangler, Hagerstown; four grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Straub, Mary Huntzberry and Marie Linder; three brothers, Harry Straub, Charles Straub and Paul Straub, Sr.; and one granddaughter.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, November 17 at Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery, Clear Spring, with military honors by Washington County AMVETS Post 14.
