Helen P. Hansroth



1910-2007

Helen Pauline Hansroth, 96, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at Williamsport Nursing Home.

Born December 28, 1910 in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. and Kathryn Smith Barker.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs.

She was a graduate of Paw Paw High School.

She was a homemaker. For many years, she served on the election board and worked at the polls.

She was a member of Berkeley Chapter #77 Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one daughter, Ruth D. Rhoe, Hagerstown, Md.; two sons, John W. Hansroth, Berkeley Springs and David L. Hansroth, Gaithersburg, Md.; one sister, Mary R. Apple, Cumberland, Md.; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Bernard Hansroth on May 4, 1989; one grandson, John Andrew Hansroth and one brother, Roscoe Barker.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 11 at First United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs with Rev. Andrew Cooney officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Orleans Crossroads.

There was an Eastern Star Memorial Service Saturday, November 10 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home.
