Festival of Light this Saturday
The ninth annual Festival of Light on Saturday, November 10 features more than 30 practitioners of spiritual and physical healing techniques. The festival is open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Country Inn in Berkeley Springs. "We urge people to come early so they can arrange appointments with some of the most popular readers," said Jeanne Mozier, a longtime supporter of the event.
Attendees may spend the day seeking answers and insights from practitioners reading everything from past life patterns and Tarot cards to etched stones or the swing of a pendulum. "The most asked questions are the obvious ones about meeting a partner or getting a job," said Mozier. "People return each year so I assume they are satisfied with the answers."
A wide range of products will also be available including drums, essential oils, homeopathic medical remedies for humans and pets, jewelry, books, art and more. "Not only can folks shop for something a little different," said Mozier, "but they can also discover information about their state of health or their future. This doesn't happen at box stores."
On-going demonstrations and activities include lightbody activation, Ayurvedic aromatherapy, angel communcation and live blood cell analysis. One of the most popular vendors in recent years has been the photographer taking pictures of an individual's aura.
"A group of us began the festival as a way of taking our own spiritual work out into the larger community. Each year the event keeps expanding," said Mary Ellen Snyder, one of the organizers. "It gives the interested community a central focus at least once a year." Snyder highlighted the location at the Country Inn. "The Garden Room at the Country Inn is light-filled and the inn is located adjacent to the healing warm spring. That suggests it is one of the most magical places in town," she said.
