Dugan recipient of state and local JOUAM scholarships

Each year the Berkeley Springs Junior Order United American Mechanics Council #117 gives a scholarship to a local area deserving student. The student must meet the academic requirements as well as being a child or grandchild of a member of Council #117. This year's $500 scholarship recipient was Robert Dugan III, son of Robert Jr. and Stacy Dugan.

In addition to the local scholarship, the State Council of the Junior Order awards a $750 scholarship to one young student in the state each year. Council #117 announces that Robert Dugan III has also received the state scholarship award.

Past State Councilor Dale Dailey made the presentations to Dugan who is presently attending Shepherd University pursuing a degree in Exercise Science.

As with all community projects, the Junior Order feels that helping deserving young students achieve their goals to attend college is an investment in the county, state and country's future.
