Lois B. Millard



1917-2007

Lois Bankmann Tarr Millard, 90, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Born June 8, 1917 in Mt. Rainier, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ernst Frederick and Annie Naomi Sanders Bankmann.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She was a graduate of McKinley High School in Washington, D.C. and had worked at First Union Bank in Vienna, Va.

She was an avid reader and a member of the Red Hat Society at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing. She had been a homemaker in later years.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Frederick Tarr, Berkeley Springs and Roger Dennis Tarr, Falls Church, Va.; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip Tarr, her second husband, Clarence E. Millard; one son, Timothy Gary Tarr and three sisters, Helen Laurena Mathews, Frieda Livingston and Edna Mae Bankmann.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon today, Wednesday, October 24, at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs with Chaplain Stephon Reed officiating. Interment will be at Arnon Cemetery, Great Falls, Va.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
