John E. Dorsey

1925-2007

Joseph Edward Dorsey, 82, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, October 12, 2007 at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Born October 9, 1925 in Mt. Savage, Md., he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison and Kate Standish McMillan Dorsey.

He was a member of Mt. Savage United Methodist Church.

He attended both public and parochial schools in Mt. Savage.

For 40 years, he had worked in the paving business in Frederick, Md.

He is survived by one daughter, Lona Marline "Tippy" Keene, Belington; three sisters, Alma Myers, Mt. Savage, Shirley Campbell and Teresa Daugherty, both of Akron, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brian Keene, Richard Keene, Kevin Keene and Lisa Kelly, all of Belington; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary E. Fishel, Katie M. Calhoun, Pearl F. Pait, Ethel G. Workman and five brothers, Benjamin H. Dorsey, Thomas M. Dorsey, George H. "Tommy" Dorsey, William L. Dorsey and Charles F. Dorsey.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. today Wednesday, October 17, at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs. Graveside services will be conducted at Mt. Savage Methodist Cemetery.
