Lorraine T. Lapp
1927-2007
Lorraine Traenkle "Larry" Lapp, 79, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, September 24, 2007 at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md.
Born October 2, 1927 in Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Sylvester L. and Regina M. Wozch Traenkle.
She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Berkeley Springs, where she had served as secretary of the vestry.
She attended public schools in Queens. She received her bachelor's degree from New York University, New York City, N.Y. and while studying there to become a dietician, hosted a luncheon for Eleanor Roosevelt.
She was an active member of Delectable Mountain Quilters and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 in Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by her husband for 58 years. Herbert Walter Lapp, M.D., at home; one son, Warren Sylvester Lapp, Berkeley Springs; and two grandsons, Trevor Alan Lapp, Berkeley Springs and Jason Brian Lapp, Ellicott City, Md.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Glen Paul Lapp on May 22, 1997 and Brian Jonathan Lapp on June 28, 2005.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 28, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Berkeley Springs, with Fr. Patrick A. Pierce officiating. Interment was in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
The Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, handled the arrangements.
