Roy E. Embrey

1931-2007

Roy Edward "Hebe" Embrey, 75, of Berkeley Springs, died on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at his home.

Born October 8, 1931 in Potomac, Md., he was the son of the late Harry Vernon and Lottie Burroughs Embrey.

He was of the Methodist faith.

He attended Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Md.

He retired in 1990 after 41 years of service with the F.O. Day Construction Company in Rockville.

He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1483 and Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60, both in Berkeley Springs and the Elks Club in Rockville.

He liked gardening and all things mechanical.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucrecia Ann Thumma Embrey, at home; two daughters, Paula J. Breeskin, Gaithersburg, Md. and Debra S. Embrey, Elizabeth City, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Ackerest, Sacramento, Calif. and Margaret "Argie" Stream, Rockville; six grandchildren, Justin C. Redden, Sparta, Tenn., Daniel S. Breeskin, Germantown, Md., Shawn P. Redden, Camden, N.C., Christie M. Roberts and Jennifer A. Breeskin, both of Germantown, Anthony M. Leis, Elizabeth City, N.C.; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry Embrey, Milton "Tad" Embrey, John Embrey, Elmer Embrey and Benjamin Embrey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, October 3 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with Rev. Dan Wright officiating. Interment will be at Parkhead Cemetery, Pecktonville, Md.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
