Apple Butter Festival street information
Boy Scout Troop 12, will manage a parking lot to the north of town on U.S. Silica Company grounds and the festival will provide a free trolley shuttle into the festival.
Due to heavy traffic expected Apple Butter weekend, October 5, 6 and 7, the following changes in Berkeley Springs streets and parking will be in effect.
CLOSED FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5 - ALL DAY the
gravel parking lot where the courthouse stood. At 5 p.m. West Fairfax Street from Washington to Mercer and
East Fairfax Street from Washington to Mercer will be closed. Booths will be setting up in these areas.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY - OCTOBER 6 & 7 - CLOSED the gravel parking lot where the courthouse stood and the gravel parking lot behind BB&T Bank, Fairfax Street from Wilkes to Mercer, Bath Street from Washington to Mercer and Independence Street from Washington to Mercer.
During festival hours there will be NO PARKING on Washington Street from the Berkeley Springs State Park to Independence Street or on Fairfax Street from Wilkes to Green Street.
MERCER STREET will be ONE WAY SOUTH from Independence to Route 9 East with parking ONLY ON THE WEST SIDE of the street.
GREEN STREET will be ONE WAY NORTH from Route 9 East to Independence with parking ONLY ON THE EAST SIDE of the street.
NO PARKING ON DAVIS ROAD.
BATH STREET will be closed to traffic and parking Friday evening through Sunday.
WILKES STREET will be closed to through traffic during festival hours from Route 9 West to Fairfax Street.
INDEPENDENCE STREET will be closed to through traffic during festival hours from Washington to Mercer Streets.
All traffic will be stopped on Washington Street (US Route 522) between Broadway and Route 9 West at 9 a.m. for the Apple Butter Festival parade.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Reserve and Town of Bath will patrol these areas. The public is urged to cooperate with measures to reduce congestion and make the festival a safe experience for everyone.
Town residents are urged to block off driveway entrances where they want no parking but ROPING OFF SECTIONS OF PARKING ON PUBLIC STREETS IS NOT PERMITTED.
Local nonprofit youth organizations operate a series of parking lots on the edges of the festival.
