SHERIFF'S REPORT

Chief Deputy Vince Shambaugh reported the following calls from September 16 through 23:

September 16

Assist Hampshire County Sheriff's Office with warrant service in the Paw Paw area.

Burglary investigation on Orleans Road. Two campers broken into.

Assist WVSP with a larceny in process call. Two suspects caught and arrested stealing copper wire in the Magnolia area. Indictments pending.

Destruction of property investigated. Two vehicles damaged at Little Creek Terrace.

Alarm at Ridersville Cycle. All secure.

September 17

Larceny of medications investigation on Valley Road.

Theft investigated on Biser Street.

Runway juvenile located and returned to parent.

September 18

Arrest of Wendy L. Smith on warrants for battery, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving.

Battery investigated at BSHS.

September 19

Domestic dispute on Homewood Hollow Road. All verbal.

ATVs reported in the area of Mountain Run and New Hope Roads. Area patrolled, negative contact.

Protective order service successful on Green Street.

Marijuana grow located and seized in southern Morgan County. Charges are pending.

September 20

Assist BSPD with a fight call.

Assist WVSP in Berkeley County. Sheriff's K-9 and handler responded for a subject fleeing on foot.

ATVs reported in the area of Mawani Village and on the CSX line. Both areas checked, negative contact.

September 21

Alarm on Valley Road. All secure.

Single vehicle accident on Johnson Mill Road. Deer struck, report taken.

Burglary investigated on Duckwall Road.

Burglary investigated on Valley Road.

September 22

Domestic dispute on Wisteria Lane. Male subject gone on arrival, no injuries, advised female of options.

Disorderly conduct investigated in Mawani Village. Situation resolved by deputy mediation.

Single vehicle accident on Jimstown Road. No injuries, report taken.

Arrest of Dennis J. Dishman for DUI.

Credit card fraud report taken. Crime occurred in several county locations. Charges pending.

September 23

Assist Hampshire County Sheriff's Dept. with attempt to locate driver who fled the scene at the intersection on WV Routes 9 and 29.

MCSD issued traffic citations and warnings, responded to 16 additional service calls not needing written reports, served 33 civil papers, conducted three transports and supervised two community service workers this past week.
