Matthew M. Wood

Matthew Mark Wood, 30, of Great Cacapon, died Monday, September 10, 2007 at his home.

Born January 28, 1977 in Cortland, N.Y., he was the son of Connie Mae Thompson Malekar, Great Cacapon and Mark Stephen Wood, Knoxville, Tenn.

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

He worked as a maintenance engineer with Coolfont and Rayloc.

He liked the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne Rayven Wood, Great Cacapon; stepfather, Ramandra Malekar, Great Cacapon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 30 at The Grove in Great Cacapon with Rev. Vernon Rankin officiating. Interment will be private.

Arrangements are being handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs.
