June D. Mills

1941-2007

June Delores Mills, 66, of Hancock, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Born June 1, 1941 in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Goldie Deshong Miller and the wife of Darwin T. Mills, Sr. of Hancock.

She was of protestant faith.

She was a retired insurance agent having been employed with Timothy B. Close Insurance in Hancock.

She was a member and secretary of the Hancock Lioness Club, a member of the Potomac Valley Lions Club, Cumberland, Md. and the Ladies of the Moose Lodge 1486 Berkeley Springs.

She was a 1959 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, Warfordsburg, Pa. and a graduate of the Insurance Agent Certification School.

Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Lenore Stains, McConnellsburg, Pa, Kathy Vanorsdale, Warfordsburg, and Gale Shafer, Hagerstown, Md.; four sons, Roger Blankley, Warfordsburg, Robert George Blankley, Mercersburg, Pa., Darwin Mills, Jr., Needmore, Pa. and William T. Mills, Hancock. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, September 22, at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. The Rev. William C. Swope officiated. Burial was in Stone Bridge Brethren Cemetery near Hancock.
