Joseph W. Kreps

1939-2007

Joseph Walter "Joe" Kreps, 68, Williamsport, Md., died Monday, September 10, 2007, at his home.

Born Feburary 19, 1939, in Pinesburg, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph Carl and Rosie Jeanette Mills Kreps.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kathleen Kreps, in 1995.

He was a 1957 graduate of Williamsport High School.

He was employed as a fireman by Redland Brick in Williamsport for 44 years until retiring in 2006.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Clear Spring, Md.

Survivors include four daughters, Jo Ellen Harris, Williamsport; Jo Ann J. Penwell and Manlinda Jo Keller, both of Clear Spring and Betty Jo Rhinehart, Berkeley Springs; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph W. Kreps Jr.; one sister, Nellie Hendershot; one brother, Frank B. Kreps; one grandson, Teddy Harris and one great-grandson.

Arrangements were handled by Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Clear Spring on Friday, September 14, with the Rev. Hank Mansell officiating.

Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Clear Spring.

Military graveside services were provided by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, of Hagerstown, Md.
