Mary E. Magness

1929-2007

Mary Ellen Magness, 78. of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born January 26, 1929 in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Catherine Fishpaugh.

She attended Francis Asbury United Methodist Church.

She attended public schools in Baltimore.

She had been a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Ellen Cleveland, Woodbridge, Va.; one son, E. Bruce Magness, Berkeley Springs; two brothers, Tom Fishpaugh and Walter Fishpaugh, both of Baltimore; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick L. Magness in 2006; one son, John Kevin Magness and one sister, Ruth Hoover.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 15 at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, Wilkes and Congress Streets, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Dan Wright officiating. Interment will be private.

Arrangements are being handled by the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs.
