Hazel K. Bishop
1918-2007
Hazel Katherine Ellington Bishop, 89, of Frederick, Md., died Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born May 6, 1918, in Mendota, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Earl and Ruby Katherine Kaylor Ellington.
She was prceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Elma Grant Bishop, who died February 26, 2000.
She graduated from high school in Charlottesvile, Va., and attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va.
She was president of the Church Women's United in Schenectady, N.Y., and Gainesville, Fla., and started Pink Ladies of the Recovery Room at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
She is survived by three daughters, Earle B. Meek, Berkeley Springs, Bobbie B. Eichman, Charlottesville, Va. and Patricia B. Kingsbury, Sandy Ridge, N.C.; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday, September 16, at 11 a.m. in Riverview Cemetery, Charlottesville.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
