New school year brings list of personnel changes
The Morgan County School Board approved extensive staff changes for the upcoming school year at their August 7 and August 21 board meetings.
Resignations
School officials accepted the resignations of Jessica Rutter, Widmyer teacher; Spencer Shives, fifth grade teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate; Nathan Fine, Warm Springs Middle Math teacher; Amanda Fine, school nurse; Jane Daube, Berkeley Springs High School teacher; Marigrace Adrian, Warm Springs Intermediate Special Education teacher; Bethany Stiles, Greenwood Kindergarten teacher; Laura Williams, Warm Springs Middle Language Arts teacher; and Ann Michael, third grade teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate School.
Transfers
The school board approved the following teacher/staff transfers: Shannon Brown, from first grade to kindergarten teacher at Widmyer Elementary; Brenda Nichols, from Kinder-garten teacher to Remedial Specialist at Widmyer Elemen-tary; Denise Crouse, from second grade to first grade teacher at Widmyer Elementary; Trista Mallow, from first grade to Kindergarten teacher at Widmyer Elementary; Laura Barcus, fifth grade teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate to second grade teacher at Widmyer Elementary; and Robin Thompson, from fourth grade to LD teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate School.
New teachers
The school board approved the hiring of 17 new teachers/staff. These include Richard Soos, LD teacher at Widmyer Elementary; Lori Swope, fifth grade teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate; Matthew Dunlap, math teacher at Warm Springs Middle; Michael Jordon, Language Arts/Gifted teacher at Warm Springs Middle; Jamie Stuckey, third grade teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate; William Jones as long-term health/phys ed teacher at Berkeley Springs High School; Susan Thomas a long-term ESL/Language Arts teacher for the county and Paw Paw School; Paula Masters and Hazel Morton as half-time Spanish teachers at Warm Springs Middle; Donna Meyer as second/third grade teacher at Greenwood Elementary; Dudley Cable as Widmyer Assistant Principal; William McLaughlin as long-term substitute for pre-school special needs instruction; Nicholas Colberg, fifth grade teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate; Laura Barcus as fifth grade teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate; Sheri Franchi as county occupational therapist; Jennifer Delawder as half-time remedial specialist for Paw Paw Elementary and Vanessa Fox as Language Arts teacher at Berkeley Springs High School.
Coaches
School officials approved extracurricular duties, or the hiring of the following coaches for the 2007-08 school year: Phil Hofe as head volleyball coach and Gail Cole as assistant volleyball coach at Berkeley Springs High School; David Mundey as head cross-country coach at Warm Springs Middle School; Rodney Hovermale as volunteer substitute athletic trainer; and Jason Conaway as head wrestling coach at Warm Springs Middle School.
