Harold W. Snyder, Sr.
1935-2007
Harold William Snyder, Sr., 71, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at his residence, while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born December 15, 1935 in Perry County, Pa., he was the son of the late Alfred and Sylvia Weaver Snyder.
He attended public schools.
He was a truck driver for 45 years, driving for T.H. Compton, Inc., Howard Delivery Service and Bonded Carriers. He was later employed as a security guard for STS, Inc. in Berkeley Springs.
He was a member of Cove Farm Mills Old Farm Machinery Association.
He is survived by his wife, Maryellen Hendershot Snyder, at home; three daughters, Vickie Joanne Bryant, Moore, Okla., Judy Christine Adame, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Angela Lynn Wachtell, Berkeley Springs; three sons, Harold William Snyder, Jr. and Adrian Dale Beattie, both of Berkeley Springs and Ernest Neal Beattie, Canton, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Leona Hill and Ginny Younker, both of Warfordsburg, Pa.; three brothers, Walt Snyder and Don Snyder, both of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Gilbert Snyder, Stillwater, Okla., and severalnieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 26 at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with Rev. Bunny Starr officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
