Harry B. Hendershot
1953-2007
Harry Bruce Hendershot, 54, of Hancock, died Sunday, August 12, 2007, at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md.
Born March 11, 1953 in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of Eva Shaffer Hendershot of Hancock and the late James Clyde Hendershot.
He was a 1972 graduate of Hancock High School.
He was employed with Mack Trucks in Hagerstown.
He was an avid outdoorsman.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Laurie A. Widmer Hendershot, whom he married June 1, 2005; one daughter, Stacy Brown, Greencastle, Pa.; one son, Michael Hendershot, Warfordsburg, Pa.; three sisters, Ellen Ward, Warfordsburg, Patricia Thomas, Greencastle, and Janice Curtis, Little Orleans, Md.; two brothers, Robert Hendershot, Hancock and Roger Hendershot, Hedgesville, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Elyssa L. Brown and Parker Brown.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tracy Star Hendershot and two sisters, Patience McBee and Charlene Hendershot.
A service will be held Thursday, August 16, at 11 a.m. at the Buck Valley Christian Church. Rev. William Swope, Rev. Scott Gibbs and Rev. Denver Plessinger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, today, Wednesday, August 15, from 7-9 p.m. and at the church 10-11 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral home will be open 2-9 p.m. on Wednesday.
