Starting Points Preschool Program resumes

Starting Points Family Resource Center will offer its preschool Playgroup and Wraparound Program this fall.

The Wraparound program is designed to provide morning care for children who are registered in the afternoon with the County HeadStart/Pre-K program. Its hours are Tuesday through Thursday, from 7:30 until 11:30 a.m. This program follows the exact same holiday schedule as the county program and includes morning breakfast, mid-morning snack, curriculum components that compliment the County HeadStart/Pre-K program and county bus pickup service at 11:15 a.m. to the afternoon HeadStart/Pre-K program.

The second program is the Playgroup program. This program also runs Tuesday through Friday beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at noon. Children may register for two-day or four-day/week options. The Playgroup children are incorporated into the same environments as the Wraparound children and receive the following benefits: mid-morning snack, curriculum components which compliment the County HeadStart/Pre-K program, a literacy "book bag" lending library, classroom volunteer assistance opportunities, weekly Parents of Preschoolers (P.O.P.s) support group and other enrichment opportunities for families of preschool children.

Discounts apply for multiple children or by personal interview with the Director of Starting Points, Audrey Morris.

If interested in registering for the Fall, 2007 school year, call Starting Points at 258-5600 or stop in during the week. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
