Local students graduate from Bryn Mawr College

Two local students were among the 424 students who took part in Bryn Mawr College's 122nd commencement exercises on May 19 and 20 at Bryn Mawr, Pa.

Marielle Shanin Hsu of Berkeley Springs, daughter of Carol and Jean-Pierre Hsu, was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in physics. She is a graduate of Sandy Springs Friends School.

Vanessa Michelle Poggioli of Berkeley Springs, daughter of Margaret and Peter Gordon, was awarded a bachelor of arts degree magna cum laude in growth and structure of cities. She is a graduate of Martha's Vineyard Regional High School.

Bryn Mawr College President Nancy J. Vickers gave remarks and conferred 302 bachelor of arts degrees, 19 master of arts degrees, 77 master of social service degrees, 16 master of law and social policy degrees, one doctor of philosophy degree in social work and nine doctor of philosophy degrees in arts and sciences.
