Go-ahead given to development

The Morgan County Planning Commission held their monthly meeting on July 24 to consider an application by MDG Companies for preliminary plat approval of a new subdivision to be called Sleepy Creek Forest Section II near Stotler's Crossroads.

The proposed subdivison would divide 39 acres on Highland Ridge Road, just east of the intersection with Winchester Grade Road, into 13 lots. The average lot size is three acres.

Discussion by the planning commission and its staff centered on the location of the floodplain at the highway entrance and on comments made by neighbors at last month's meeting. Following deliberation, the commission approved the preliminary plat request.
