Week recognizes probation officers

The week of July 15-21, has been designated as a time to recognize the work of probation, parole and community supervision professionals.

Probation, Parole and Community Supervision Week is meant to recognize the men and women who work every day with West Virginia's 14,171 probationers and 2,126 parolees to hold them accountable for the crimes they have committed.

These professionals are exposed to many of the negative aspects of life as they deal with offenders and the trauma that offenders cause victims.
