Glen E. Widmyer
1926-2007
Glenn Eugene Widmyer, 80, of Charles Town, died Sunday, July 2007 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
Born December 18 1926,
he was the son of the late Les-lie and Jennie Kesecker Widmyer.
He and his wife moved to Charles Town in 1947. His career spanned approximately 50 years as a barber until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church and a member of the Citizens Fire Company. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Community Out Reach Program.
Surviving are one son, Leslie C. Widmyer, Richmond, Va; one daughter, Susan J. Smoot, Winchester, Va; three grandchildren, Nathan Widmyer and Colleen Rice, both of Richmond and Tanya Lowery, Stephens City, Va.; two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Edna Roper Widmyer who died March 8, 2000.
Friends will be received Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m. at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Ranson. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. July 12 at the St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Charles Town, with Reverend Constantine L. Havir officiating. Interment will be at the Greenway Cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
