Donald Lee Shirley I, 65, of Big Pool, Md., died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.
Born June 17, 1942, in Clear Spring, Md., he was the son of the late Ralph Frederick Shirley and Catherine Belle Weller Shirley.
He retired from St. Lawrence Cement Corp. of Hagerstown in 2004 after 39 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Robin R. Thompson Shirley, Big Pool; one daughter, Kara D. Tedrick, Smithsburg; two sons, Kirk S. Shirley, Mercersburg, Pa., and Donald L. Shirley II, at home; one stepson, Edwin L. Blair, Hagerstown; one stepsister, Janet Andrews, Hagerstown; two brothers, A. Frederick Shirley, Berkeley Springs and R. Dick Shirley, Maugansville, Md.; one stepbrother, Ardell Stotler, Hagerstown; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two aunts; and one uncle.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kraig Shirley.
Services were Tuesday, June 26, at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Clear Spring. The Rev. Scott Summers officiated. Burial was in Shanktown Cemetery, Big Pool.
